During one of the dives, their attention was drawn to the fact that in the water they saw an unknown creature, which was huge.
After the divers sailed closer to the unknown giant, they realized that a huge jellyfish was floating in front of them, the size of which exceeded human height.
Representatives of this genus of jellyfish belong to the Cornerota detachment. They have a peach-colored color and a rounded umbrella.
In an interview with The Washington Post, Cheryl Ames, an employee of the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History’s Information Center, said that jellyfish are representatives of the Cornerota detachment, whose diameters range from 1.5 to 2.0 m - this is a very rare phenomenon. You can meet such huge jellyfish only in the natural environment. Their main food is fish, crustaceans and zooplankton. A distinctive feature of the representatives of this detachment from others is the absence of a tentacle in the form of a corolla, which is located at the lower edge of the umbrella.
According to the stories of videographer Dan Abbott, when he saw this giant creature, he was taken aback and fell into a stupor, because he could not even imagine that jellyfish can reach such enormous sizes. Then he focused and decided to capture this beauty in the video, as no one would believe him. According to him, the jellyfish looked majestic, beautiful and graceful. She moved very slowly and smoothly.
It is very pleasing that, although rare, we still have the opportunity to meet such gigantic representatives of the animal world. According to statistics, it follows that such giant animals will soon be completely extinct. Small universal wagons with a unique ability to quickly reproduce will quickly take their place.
